Sharon Henderson –  Speech Therapist

Prior to training as a speech and language therapist Sharon had an office based background – working in accounts, as a PA, managing personnel, customer service and supporting staff using IT systems. She also worked to train and support the development of staff.
Sharon re-trained as a speech and language therapist to promote communication and inclusion. Personal interests are in Dementia, Stroke and early intervention for children.

Sharon gained her degree at University of St Mark & St John in Plymouth. She has also gained a further qualification in reminiscence therapy in Dementia care and has completed the Lidcombe Programme for stammering. Sharon believes passionately that communication is a basic human right and support should be available to those with difficulties.

Currently Sharon is working in schools with primary aged children and adults who have had a stroke.

Sharon sings in a choir and likes to go for walks by the sea.
